Keep Your Business Secure this Holiday SeasonDecember 9th, 2018 | by Radius Security | in Security
With the holiday season upon us, it’s important to put a plan in place to make sure your business is kept safe and secure during the most chaotic month of the year. Keep these security tips in mind to keep your business secure while you are enjoying the holidays with family and friends.
Double Check Security Equipment
It is worthwhile to do a quick check over of all of your business’ security equipment to be sure it is working properly to keep your business safe. Do a test of the following equipment:
- Alarm Systems
- Smart Locks
- Access Control Systems
- Surveillance Cameras
- Panic Buttons
Once you have made sure that all of these are working properly, also make sure that staff are familiar with how to properly operate and set the equipment, and make sure that no holiday decorations are obstructing the equipment from proper use.
Advise Security Company of Changes
If you have changes to your hours or routines during the holidays, be sure to let your alarm and security providers know. This way they can monitor for unusual activity during hours when there should not be movement. While you are contacting these companies, double check your emergency contact list and update it to reflect the correct contact people during the holidays if those differ from regular seasons.
Lock up Properly
When you leave for holiday break, be sure that your business is locked up properly. This may seem obvious, but it is important to take extra caution to be sure that it is done properly – all windows, doors, and other potential entry points should be secured tightly and properly. Individual rooms or offices that contain sensitive data or valuables should be locked separately as well. If your business has an access control system, review who has access to each area of the building.
With the holiday season beginning, it is a good idea to take a look at how well your business is secured. Review these tips to help keep your business safe and secure during the busiest time of year!
